Massachusetts business owners know that they need to have a Massachusetts Workers Compensation policy in place to protect workers injured in the course of doing work.  How does the workers compensation policy respond if that employee is in a different state?

The workers compensation policy covers claims made only in the states that are named in the policy in an area known as 3.A of the "Declarations".    If your employee is injured while working in another state, and that state happens to have benefits that are more generous than any of the states named in your policy declarations, that employee could feasibly file a claim in the state where the injury occurred and it would not be covered.
